Salt and Pepper. Part 2.

I walked, fast, swift, pushing.

I knew the sharpness, you know?

That deep inner pulling,

down, down: goddamn down.

In the mud.

I have tasted it before:

the sharp salt that crucifies my senses.

My tongue curls as I see it.

In the trees.

It’s not as bad as it used to be:

the fear of the season.

The change.

It has gotten a lot easier,

Since then.

That day in the car, when she said to me:

‘The trees aren’t dying you know, they are going to sleep’:

to rest:

to relax,

to grow:

within.

It’s a different kind of growing: you know?

and we all need to do it.

yep: we all need to fucking do it.

So shake that salt,

sprinkle the pepper:

and breathe so deep that your lungs climax.

Into the ecstasy that is newness:

a new season (within).

A new sprout (within)

a new birth (within)

a new emergence (did I mention it’s within?).

Feel your heart beat.

Beating.

Beating.

Powering up.

And please, for the love of God please:

know your worth:

in the deadness of the salt.

In the sting of the pepper:

know your fucking worth.

The trees do.

Oh, the trees fucking do.

So now: so do you.

In love, Matt xx
