I took a walk
In the green yellow orange brown
Of the present moment.
They say that presence is grounding
It isn’t.
Even grounding itself is quite chaotic.
Let me tell you, about today:
I awoke earlier than usual, vibrant, alive, ready.
I felt like spending the day alone
Then I pined for company.
The old me would have ‘I planned the day alone I shall do the day alone’
The new me…
In a coffee shop eating gluten free cake and smiling.
A lot.
It is a sunny day, the cobbled square beams with brightness
Alive with the chaos of presence.
I eat my cake, I drink my latte, I give the café owner a big tip.
I walk to the shop…. My chaotic senses want to go further afield, to the local park, where I usually ground myself.
No.
No.
No.
“Can you not notice Matt that the walk to the shop is as chaotically present as the walk in the park?
Can you not see the vibrant colour of the shop assistant’s smile?”
The “yes you have an amazon parcel… I’ll go get it for you… the… he didn’t even ask your name: he knows it feeling of:
Belonging?”
What I am saying to you, through this (kinda) freewriting (kinda) haze is this:
You might think you are ‘all over the place’ but, actually: when you notice the:
Colours
Shades
Sounds
Noise
Silence
Stimulation
Deadness
Latte
Cake
Hunger
Of the present chaotic moment….
It isn’t, actually, chaotic at all.
And maybe, just maybe:
You are doing life much better than you think.
In Love,
IAmMattVC The Alchemist xx
